Details released regarding boarding groups and lightning lanes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Friends, as we approach the opening day of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it’s time again for us to embrace the virtual Disney queue. Let’s review the details Disney has released to help us prepare.

As previously reported, when Cosmic Rewind opens on May 27, there will initially be no backup line. Guests with a valid park ticket will only be able to board the attraction by obtaining a boarding party through the virtual queue or by purchasing individual access to Lightning Lane.

If you choose to take the virtual queue, you’ll need to get up and shine in time for the first group boarding in the My Disney Experience app at 7 a.m. You’ll need to make sure you have a ticket and pass reservation for that day, but you don’t need to be in the park to join the virtual queue. A second group boarding will take place at 1pm, but you must be at EPCOT to join. Keep in mind that you can only join one group per day.

If you decide to purchase an individual Lightning Lane through Disney Genie, you can do so on the day of your visit in My Disney Experience. Again, you will need a valid ticket and park pass reservation in the books. Keep in mind that the ILL purchase price is per person and will vary by day.

Here’s where the whole boarding party deviates from what’s come before: Cosmic Rewind will offer guests at Luxury Resorts and Luxury Villas (and some additional resorts) the chance to join a virtual evening queue to 6 p.m. on select dates when extended evening hours are available. Luxury guests do not need to be in the park to request to join a party on these dates.

If any additional details are released, we’ll be sure to let you know.
