It’s time to save the galaxy – again – with our favorite MCU characters.

These cheats and hacks have been successfully used for previous boarding parties such as Rise of the Resistance, WEB Slingers, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Tips for entering a boarding party for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT

  • Disable Wi-Fi. For most places, Wi-Fi will slow you down. Unless your phone is showing 1 or 2 bars, disable Bluetooth and WiFi for this process. Also close all background apps on your phone; let your phone know that the only thing that matters is getting a Cosmic Rewind boarding party.
  • You have two chances to get a boarding party: 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.. You don’t have to be in the park for the 7am attempt, but you must have checked in at EPCOT for the 1pm option. Afternoon seems easier to find than a boarding group in the morning. Reminder: you cannot park at Walt Disney World before 2 p.m.! This limits your options for this ride at this time.
  • Confirm your boarding group up to one hour before. In the app, access the virtual queue and confirm who will be in your group that day. Remove anyone who is connected with you through the app, but who is not planning to ride that day. Note: Everyone in your party will need a theme park reservation for EPCOT if you try the 7 AM option.

  • Set an alarm on your phone for 6:58 a.m.. Trust us, that’s all you need. Once the alarm goes off, open your My Disney Experience app and navigate to the Virtual Queue page. Click Join Virtual Queue. It will be too early to get your Guardian’s Coaster boarding party, but you’ll be in the right place. You will see the “Confirm your group” button. This disappears when the virtual queue is opened.
  • Refresh Refresh Refresh! Swipe down on the screen to refresh your virtual queue page. Repeat this operation until the time changes to 7 a.m. and the Join the queue button is highlighted. Here is an example of Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland. Note the blue highlighted section between the park names and the word Attractions. This is the time Disney uses, so it’s the time you expect to shoot at 7:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.

  • When you see Join virtual queue replacing Confirm your group, mash that button! This will be (fingers crossed) the last step in making your way to a Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind boarding party.
  • Check your boarding group number and estimated return time. The app will notify you when the ride is ready for your return and you will have 1 hour to rejoin the physical line. BUT: don’t wait! It is important. These rides can (and do!) go down often – and due to their complexity, it can take hours for some rides to come back online. So don’t hesitate: if your group has been called, don’t hesitate any longer and queue for the Guardians Coaster! The example below is from Rise of the Resistance.

1. Some sites suggest using the USNO master clock to determine the EXACT time, but we found that to be completely unnecessary.

The only time that matters is Disney time, and using the refresh plan worked every morning and every afternoon for us.

2. Virtual Guardian Queue Tip: The newest phone usually wins! If you have more than one cell phone in your group, ask EVERYONE to try at the same time.

3. If you don’t get into the first queue, go ahead and set an alarm on your phone for 12:58 and try again for the afternoon. If you have park hoppers, you’ll have to wait until you enter EPCOT to try out your boarding group.

4. If the attraction is closed when your boarding party has been called, don’t panic. But go ahead and take a screenshot of your boarding group number.

Once the attraction reopens (and no, Disney isn’t warning you, you’ll need to check the app for the update), you’ll be allowed to enter the queue.

5. If you’re late, don’t panic either. Cast Members won’t let you board early, but they may feel some sympathy if you show up late.

We showed up over an hour after our boarding party called due to a dinner reservation and they let us ride with no problem. As always, your mileage may vary with this Guardians Coaster cheat. Not every Cast Member will be able to let you in, but it never hurts to ask nicely.

Can you get a boarding party and an individual lightning lane for the cosmic return?

If Disney uses the same system and rules as previous boarding groups, the answer is YES.

You will be able to organize both a boarding party and purchase an individual Lightning Lane for GOTG Coaster at the same time.

We were able to do this when the Remy carousel opened.

We will update this article should this change.
