Police appeal after thieves stole riding gear from Bolesworth Castle

Detectives are asking for information after riding gear was stolen from Bolesworth Castle last weekend.

At some point between 10.30pm on Saturday 2nd July and 5.30am on Sunday 3rd July, unknown persons broke into the lockers at the Bolesworth Hill Road site and a quantity of horse tack was taken.

An investigation is currently underway and officers are appealing to anyone who may have information.

Detective Constable Paul Boneham, of Cheshire Police, said: “These robberies happened at a busy event with many people in and around the area.

“We have a number of ongoing investigations and I want to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to find those responsible.

“As part of our investigations, I urge anyone in the area who has seen something that doesn’t look quite right, to come forward.

“The same goes for anyone who was driving in the area overnight and may have dash cam footage to come forward.

“If someone is offered saddlery, be careful and if you have any suspicions, contact us and we will do the rest.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police quoting IML 1308110 via cheshire.police.uk/police-forces/cheshire-constabulary/areas/cheshire/about-us/about-us/provide-more-information-about-an-appeal/ or call 101.
